Amy and Kirk lead a significant ministry outreach to the greater Green Bay area through Young Life. Currently they lead teams of volunteer adults that minister and share Christ with students at 5 middle and high school campuses in our area. They desire to grow and have positioned themselves to do so by recently hiring an Associate Area Director to assist in their growth and sustainability. They have also started a 1 on 1 mentoring arm of Young Life that matches adults and middle/high school students that need a little more attention and direction than their large and small group ministry affords. That is helping them go deeper into the lives of teens in a more transformative way.
Kirk grew up in Ames and attended First Evangelical Free Church (now Christ Community). He graduated from Ames High School in 1990, then graduated from Bethel University, St. Paul, MN with a degree in Speech/Media Communication with concentrations in business and art.
Kirk began volunteering with Young Life in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area following college. After volunteering for one year, in August of 1996, he began working with Young Life in the Twin Cities. Kirk and Amy were married in 2002, then called to move to Green Bay to minister with Young Life there in 2005. Currently Kirk is the Area Director of Young Life Green Bay.
Kirk and Amy have three children, Robert Fisher, Ava and Kai.
