Share the Gospel – Study #4

Christ Community Church   -

Why did God raise Jesus?
Internalizing the 5 “Share the Gospel” Questions/Answers
Quite frankly, we who follow Jesus need to be absolutely certain and crystal clear about the powerful truth of Jesus’ resurrection. We live increasingly in a world where hope is dying, where people are not certain life is a good thing. Teenagers are less certain than ever before that getting to age 20 is worth it. Veterans who have served our country return only to experience disillusionment and a living that doesn’t feel worth the price. So many homes are fractured and need more than their own resources seem to provide.

People need the good news of the gospel about our Savior and Lord Jesus.  This study is designed to have us review the 5 key questions people may have about God and the gospel.

Let’s get STARTED –
Here are the 5 questions.  Which of these a) do you feel most prepared to answer clearly, or b) don’t feel prepared to answer clearly:

#1 Who is God?
#2 Who are we?
#3 How does God love us?
#4 Why did Jesus die?
#5 Why did God raise Jesus?

Let’s EXPLORE in the WORD –  Here’s a review study of the 5 Key questions…dig in!
WHO IS GOD?   What did Jesus make clear about God the Father?  Matthew 5:43-48, 6:5-6, 7:7-10 & Luke 15. How would you summarize Jesus’ depiction of God?
WHO ARE WE?  Genesis 1:26-27   James 3:9-10  and   Genesis 3:17-19 ; Romans 5:12-19 (Cf. Eph 2:1-3). How would you summarize how God’s Word views mankind?
HOW DOES GOD LOVE US?  1 John 4:18-19, Romans 5:5-11, Ephesians 2:1-7, Luke 15:11-24. How would you describe God’s love for us to someone else?
WHY DID JESUS DIE?  1 Corinthians 15:1-5 and Romans 6:1-11. Simply identify two “outcomes” of Jesus’ death for sin.
WHY WAS JESUS RASIED?  Psalm 16:8-11, Romans 4:24-25, John 11:25-26. Can you recall the 3 “Yep!” statements from God in the resurrection (cf. in Sunday’s teaching)?
Let’s Prioritize APPLICATION  –
Do you think you can use these questions with others?  Which one do you find most helpful?

Our mission is to “connect people to life-defining relationships in Christ.”  When God answers our prayers and presents an opportunity, we can put out “the welcome mat” to someone who may not understand what God in Christ has done for us. These questions, and their answers, can be conversation starters.
How have you been helped by this study?  Do you feel more prepared to share?
Let’s live the mission!
